Diane Hohnbaum

Ms. Hohnbaum joined the Henry Samueli School of Engineering (HSSoE) Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) CHRS staff when the research group relocated to the University of California at Irvine. She is a UCI Alumni of The Claire Trevor School of the Arts (B.A. 1993) with a double major in Studio Art and Drama, and a minor in Dance.

She brings extensive work experience in Legal, Business and Academic environments to the group and manages the business operations of CHRS. Diane is a founding member of the Teamsters Local 2010 and serves as a Teamsters Steward at the UC Irvine Campus.

Diane is an avid life-long learner. Subsequent to obtaining her B.A. degree, she completed certificate programs in Digital Media Arts-Computer Graphics and Multimedia Design at Orange Coast College, Costa Mesa, CA and the Legal Assistant certificate program at Kensington College, Santa Ana, CA. She also completed the Research Administration and Management Program (RAMP) under the auspices of the UCI Office of Research Administration (ORA).

When not engaged in CHRS activities, Diane is active in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Mojave Chapter, CA; Life member of the UCI Alumni Association; and Life member of the Orange Coast College (OCC) Alumni Association.

A dedicated genealogist Diane, who was born in Los Angeles, CA, has traced her ancestors to the Royal houses of England, Scotland, Ireland, and the continental dynasties. She is a descendant of Mayflower passengers Edward Fuller, his wife, and their son Samuel. Members of her ancestral family include veterans of the American Revolution, War of 1812, U.S. Civil War, WWI and WWII.

Diane has served as a volunteer peer counselor for the NEW HOPE telephone and online crisis center in Garden Grove, CA.
